Bio:

Carla Saunders, MBA, serves as President of the Calorie Control Council (CCC), where she leads the Council’s strategic initiatives to advance science-based understanding of low- and reduced-calorie ingredients and their role in nutrition, health, and wellness. In this capacity, Carla collaborates with regulatory agencies, academic researchers, and industry partners to promote evidence-based policies and communication around low- and no-calorie sweeteners and functional ingredients.

Carla is also Group Vice President, Food and Nutrition, at Kellen, where she leads a multidisciplinary team supporting scientific, regulatory, and association management initiatives for global food and nutrition organizations. She brings over 20 years of experience across industry sectors and is recognized for her leadership in shaping food policy, fostering stakeholder collaboration, and driving impactful programs in the health and nutrition space.

She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Mary and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Based in the Minneapolis area, Carla is an advocate for science-informed public health and consumer choice in today’s evolving food landscape.
